My niece is suffering with sharp chest pain

My niece is 30 years old and has been diagnosed with lupus, she had day surgery last week, later on she started having real bad chest pains, Sunday she had numbness in her left arm and it was hurting but her arm got better. Today she said she was sitting in the car and turned around to look behind her and her neck also started hurting., the Dr. precribed pain medicine but it still doent seem to be working very well (she has been in pain every since last Tuesday) and told her to come back Wendsay morning if it didnt get better. I live in Texas she lives in Indiana What can I do to help her I feel so helpless? 12/2/09
She talk to the Dr. this morning because she is still in pain and he told her to go to the emergency room so they can run some more test.
